Why an African Safari Should Be on Your Bucket List

If you haven’t yet added an African safari to your bucket list, you should consider doing so now. A safari gives you the chance to take part in amazing adventures and to get up close and personal with the wildlife and culture of Africa. While you have probably seen pictures and documentaries on TV, there is something completely different about experiencing a safari in person. Experience the Nature Africa has a completely different nature scene that you’ll have to explore for yourself. There is no other place on earth where you can see a wide variety of wild animals that are roaming in their natural habitat. If you visit a zoo close to home you’ll see animals but they are not living in their natural environments. They are being treated more as pets and have become somewhat domesticated. There is no comparison between visiting a gorilla, a lion or a zebra in a zoo versus out on the open range in Africa. You’ll be able to put your feet down on deserts and grasslands that are even more beautiful than they appear in postcards. You’ll see birds that you’ve never seen before and trees that deserve more than one snapshot. You can visit the sea and enjoy the crisp, clear ocean air as you enjoy exciting water sports or simply relax on the beach to take in the sun. Experience the Culture Tourism in Africa continues to grow as more and more people discover the incredible cultures that are needed to this continent. You’ll discover a variety of cultures with diverse and rich histories that differ from one region to the next. You’ll be able to meet lifelong friends and the chances are good that you’ll want to go back to meet up with them again and to see more of the culture that dates back centuries. Taking an African safari needs to be on your bucket list. Find out more about the different types of safaris available and why they are a cost-effective option for your next holiday by visiting aroundafricasafari.com. Guide to Packing for an East Africa Safari

You’ve booked your flight and are ready to go on your East Africa Safari. All that’s left to do is sort out your packing list and you’ll be ready to go! There are a few things that you should keep in mind, however, when packing for this safari since it will be quite different from the other holidays that you may have taken in the past. For example, if you going to be taking a charter flight, you’ll only be able to take along one soft-sided bag with a weight restriction of 15 kg and 1 carry-on luggage bag. Putting Together a Packing List Here are some of the most important items that you’ll need to include on your list to make the most of your safari adventures: Clothing Your clothing should include 3 to 4 T-shirts, 2 shirts with long sleeves, 2 to 3 pairs of shorts, 1 lightweight fleece pullover or jacket, 2 pairs of light pants, swimwear, a bandanna or scarf, underwear, cotton socks and a hat with a wide brim that ties under the chin. Avoid clothes that are black or dark blue since they attract tsetse flies and instead choose clothes with neutral tones like brown and khaki. The long-sleeve shirts will also help prevent insect bites and will offer protection from the sun in the hot afternoons. Shoes Bring along a pair of your most comfortable walking shoes for your safari trip. You should also include a pair of the flip-flops or lightweight sandals to wear around the lodging. Miscellaneous and Personal Items Bring along your passport and a copy of it and keep both of them in separate bags. This way, if you do happen to lose your passport, it will be easier to replace it with a copy available. Don’t forget to pack your camera and an extra battery if necessary since you’ll be snapping a lot of pictures. Sunscreen and lip balm are essentials since you’ll be spending a lot of time in the sun and you should also be armed with insect repellent and a Malaria prophylaxis as well. If you take any personal medication you’ll want to pack...
